The farmers’ day celebration started with a field tour at one of our farmer, Gulab Rupnar’s field. Our team got to study various plantations like Guava, Custard apple, Watermelon, Jawar and Cotton. This got us an idea about the best practices in plantation and at the same time how to maintain them to achieve best productivity. Later we witnessed some of the best practices incorporated by Global Parli regarding water management, such as, Recharge Shaft, Deepening and widening of the river, Cleaning and filtering of the water and overall distribution of the water around villages.
To mark the celebration of the farmers day we sat around in groups to understand the current scenario in villages followed by a memorable brunch of a traditional Maharashtrian dish called as “Dahi Dhapate” when all the regional farmers shared their experiences.
